Bio for Marilyn Salas

I am a hands-on-healer, and have been involved in the healing arts since 1993. I started my healing career (in this lifetime) in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was there that I met a Yoga teacher at the Anand Ashram in Jakarta….his name:  Anand Krishna.  (See his websites below.)  It was "Krishna" (as he likes to be called) who told me that I was a "healer"! Imagine that! And, in looking around the room to see if there was someone else he was talking about...and, there was no one else there...I realized he was really talking to me! Immediately, I didn't know what to do with that information, but it felt "right"!  His suggestion to me was to start activating my hands...face them to the sun..., and begin to feel the energy!  And, that I did!

However, to my surprise....as I realized later....we all possess that innate ability to heal...we are all born with that wondrous ability to bring forth love in an energetic way to heal ourselves, to heal others, and to heal the Earth.  For some, healing is facilitated thru the "hands-on approach"…however, there are many other wonderful energy-healing expressions which come thru the mediums of art, music, and/or the spoken word, etc. There are many...many…many paths to help us express our divinity...our God-self!

But as for me, the healing expression was thru the hands-on approach, and because I was almost 50 at that time, my path was "quickened" (no time to loose here)...to "bring me up to speed", as they say! For almost two years, I was blessed with household servants while living in Indonesia.  In being so freed up from routine household duties, I was able to read, and read.... and read.  I was able to remain in deep meditation for hours at a time! Spirit works in simple, yet incredible and wondrous, ways! It was in Indonesia that my "inner sight" opened for me, and the beautiful healing energy of love started to radiate out my heart…and my hands.

My path of self-discovery in the healing arts also brought to my awareness the vast modalities which were being presented by so many other dedicated, impassioned, and loving people. I am always interested in "what's out there"..."what's around the corner"..."who will my next teacher be"..."what is the other piece of the healing puzzle"...and, "what will further enhance the gift of my healing abilities".  I am...and with the grace of Spirit... will continue to remain OPEN TO THE POSSIBILITIES!

If I was asked what my "specialty" is in facilitating the healing energy, I would have to say that I know that Love is the healer, and I am very aware and clear on how to utilize that Love energy to help the healing process.

I am also very much aware of "negative energies", and I have been given the “gift” to audibly detect these negative energies (i.e., energy blocks, thought forms, entities, or "attachments" from any dimension) in my client’s ethereal fields thru the use of sound (thru the "snapping" of my fingers that I do). The technique is much like the use of "sonar"...akin to what the dolphins and whales use in sending out sound waves to detect objects...the negative energies cause the "snapping" sound of my fingers to feedback a muted sound.  Actually, it is almost difficult to "snap" at times when things are so blocked!    Not only can these negative energies be detected, but they can be either be temporarily, and many times permanently, dissipated...or, in other words...broken apart and released!

There is little thought, or much less blame, even given to the effects of these negative energies by most Western medical thought...but, in my humble experience... they are very, very real! 

When I started my healing career as an intuitive healer, there was no one on this physical plane of existence to teach me any healing technique whatsoever!  However, for me, that was the "right" path! I feel that I opened up to the "Love of Spirit" while living in Indonesia...and the rest is history/herstory!

After years of solely working with Spirit to develop the techniques that have been intuitively given to me over many, many years of healing work, I have also been certified as a Reiki Master Teacher, and have been trained in Pranic Healing, incorporating certain techniques from each modality into my intuitive work.  However, to be perfectly honest, I must say that I utilize very little of these programmed healing techniques....however, I do consider them “door openers” for people to get acquainted to the healing energies.

Before the physical, mental, and emotional bodies can be healed....

the spiritual/ethereal body must be healed first!!!

I live with my husband Bob in Ojai, which is a little town nestled in the coastal mountains of Southern-Central California. I am currently active in the healing community of this beautiful valley. I have co-hosted the Ojai Healing Circle for 3 years, and am now partnering with David Mark to help run the Ojai Healing Connections, an e-mail service for announcing current healing/spiritual events in the area, and our website: www.OjaiHealingCircle.com, which is this website posting my biographical and testimonial information. 

In addition, I have also worked as a "volunteer" for the Breast Resource Center (Reiki Clinic), in Santa Barbara for 2-1/2 years.  For over two years I did energy work for Nan Tolbert's Ojai Valley Birth Resources and Family Center.  I am currently consulting with the Ojai Valley News Visitor's Guide in creating the new "Mind, Body, Spirit" Healers Section in their quarterly magazine.
